The IHR has a spectacular diversity of species. It has been partly attributed to the region’s longtime shifting cultivation and organic farming practice. Unlike conventional farms, indigenous agricultural practices are highly integrated into farming families. As a result, they add useful knowledge and skills to their existing expertise. Our approach is to help protect the fragile IHR ecosystem.
